1. Will you mostly play solo or in a group?
- Mostly solo → Ranger, Gladiator, Spiritmaster
Game8 names Ranger and Spiritmaster as strong solo classes; KeenGamer (written just before launch) adds Gladiator. No pick has two post-launch lists behind it yet. (Game8, KeenGamer) - Mostly groups → Cleric, Templar, Chanter
Every group needs a healer and a tank. Cleric and Templar fill those roles; Chanter brings party buffs and off-heals. (KeenGamer, Timesaver)
- Mostly solo → Ranger, Gladiator, Spiritmaster
2. Up close or at range?
- Melee → Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Chanter
Greatsword, sword and shield, daggers and staff fighters. (official class list, KeenGamer) - Ranged → Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster
Bow, spellbook and orb users. Guides call Sorcerer the most fragile of the three. (official class list, KeenGamer) - Healing from the back line → Cleric
The only full healer on the global roster. (Timesaver)
- Melee → Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Chanter
3. Is this your first MMO?
- Yes, keep it forgiving → Templar, Ranger, Cleric, Gladiator
Templar, Cleric and Gladiator are each called beginner-friendly by at least two post-launch guides; Timesaver also recommends Ranger. (Mein-MMO, Timesaver, Game8) - No, I want a challenge → Assassin
Three lists call Assassin the hardest class or a bad first pick, with the highest payoff when played well. (Game8, Mein-MMO, Timesaver)
- Yes, keep it forgiving → Templar, Ranger, Cleric, Gladiator
4. Do you play with high ping?
All classes side by side
What player guides say about each class, read on October 12, 2026. NCSoft does not rank or label its classes.
| Class | Role | Solo | New players |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gladiator Greatsword | Melee damage; can off-tank (KeenGamer) | Holds up well alone thanks to durability and crowd control. (KeenGamer) | Simple rotation; often suggested to new players. (Game8) |
| Templar Longsword | Tank (KeenGamer) | Low damage makes solo leveling slow. (Mein-MMO) | Forgives mistakes; a common first-class pick. (Mein-MMO) |
| Assassin Dagger | Melee burst damage with stealth (KeenGamer) | Clears solo content fast but is fragile. (Timesaver) | The hardest class to play; not a first pick. (Game8) |
| Ranger Bow | Ranged physical damage (KeenGamer) | Kites and farms safely from range. (Game8) | Easy to pick up; recommended for beginners. (KeenGamer) |
| Sorcerer Spellbook | Ranged magic damage; fragile (KeenGamer) | Can level fastest if you manage mana well. (Mein-MMO) | Easy rotation, but you must watch mana and positioning. (Game8) |
| Spiritmaster Orb | Ranged summoner: damage and control (KeenGamer) | Spirits take hits and heal, which makes solo play safer. (Game8) | Managing spirits can overwhelm new players. (Mein-MMO) |
| Cleric Mace | Healer (KeenGamer) | Safe but slow when playing alone. (Timesaver) | Hard to play badly; recommended for beginners. (Timesaver) |
| Chanter Staff | Support: party buffs, off-heals and melee damage (KeenGamer) | Better in groups; one list finds it flexible solo. (KeenGamer) | Medium difficulty. (Mein-MMO) |
